Random Annoyances: Spider webs on wing mirrors

What I want to know is how the buggers get in there. You can park your car in the middle of an empty lot with nary a tree, shrub, wall or any nook or cranny within a 500 yard radius yet come morning, there’s a glittering web draped over the wing mirror with a spider hiding behind the glass. What do they do, break out the ladders when everyone is asleep?

And the only way get them out is blast the mirror with a high pressure hose because the sly sods scurry away at the slightest tremble. Sometimes, even that doesn’t lodge them and neither does using the electric controls to try and force ’em out. Still, I guess I’d much rather a spider on the wing mirror than a cabin with flies.
