Google Chrome finally comes of age

By far the most popular extension for Google Chrome is AdBlock by Michael Gundlach but this has always been hampered by having to download ads and then use CSS to prevent them from showing. However, now that the latest version of Google Chrome has the necessary code to allow adverts to be blocked at source, it makes for a very tempting alternative to the quirky but speedy Opera and the feature rich yet ridiculously bloated Firefox which seems to be gaining ever more flab with each passing release.

Time to revisit Chrome and see if the CPU hogging has also been resolved! Given that Chrome has built in support for Adobe Flash, I’m guessing that this is the major cause of any CPU hogging and am hoping that AdBlock goes someway towards preventing this useless crap from downloading.
